How is chess useful for children?
'If you've been putting off something like learning chess with your family, use the time you'd normally be out and about.'
Hollywood actor, former Governor of California
Arnold Schwarzenegger
When playing chess, children calculate a large number of combinations and learn to choose the best option. During the class, the coach will discuss with your child what purpose each move may have.

This ability to analyze and plan nurtures in children the ability to understand how to achieve their goals in school, hobbies, or future profession.

Chess forms the skill of memorization for life.
Chess improves memory

Advantages of online learning at the Russian Chess School
The current situation has forced many educational institutions to switch to an online format. However, in these new conditions the rules for new online classes are often not finalized. This causes discomfort for both children (often leading to inattention and the inability to learn) and parents (who have to be actively involved in the learning process and understand the technical settings).
9 years of an online learning experience
We have gathered our 10-years of experience studying online, combined modern technical tools with the traditional approach to chess education, gone through the path of trial and error, and today we are giving a proven solution for your children.
You do not need to waste time on commuting to a school. Any device with Internet access and a notebook is suitable for online classes. Your child is more involved in the process, and learning is more productive: they are not tired on the road, the coach does not spend time on organizational issues, late pupils do not distract the group, and placing chess pieces on the monitor screen does not take much time.
Save time and increase productivity
All of these factors influence the effectiveness of learning so children succeed in our online program much faster.
We make certain that education is comfortable for children without distracting them with technical problems.
Technological and comfortable learning environment
Our coaches have also prepared technical tools for effective e-teaching:
Zoom for conducting a lesson (both in a group and individually)
Chess Base for the study of theory (examples of the games of great chess players, analysis of the games of students, learning of openings)
Lichess.org for training parties (live game, simultaneous sessions with the coach, playing with each other)
Chess.com for homework and practice (task solving and tournaments)
Russian Chess School is the only school with more than 30 trainers. This variety allows you to choose a convenient time for classes, create a regular weekly schedule, choose a group based on the level of chess talent, and preferences for teaching approach. All of your wishes are taken into account.
Over 30 coaches and groups according to the level of the game
Your child will be comfortable studying and will not have to be playing the role of "catch up" or be bored because they are far ahead of the group in terms of their skill level. If your child develops chess skills faster than their group, we help them choose a coach and a new group according to their level.
Groups are up to 10 people depending on the age and chess level of children
For preschoolers of 5-6 years old, we provide groups of no more than 4-5 people. In this age category, the coach also assumes the role of an educator. It is easier to keep the concentration of young children in smaller groups. Students of primary school age are engaged in 5-8 people groups and the occupancy of the online class depends on the level of training.
Small groups allow the coach to devote enough time to each child, find a suitable approach to them and see their strengths and weaknesses. Children will be able to ask questions and keep up with their peers. Parents will receive regular feedback from the school.
Convenient training schedule:
7 days a week; morning, afternoon, and evening classes available for every time zone.
The school's schedule is created so that children can easily combine learning chess with other activities.
Even if you would like an intensive program of 3 or more lessons per week, your child will not be overwhelmed. They can choose the lesson schedule to suit their needs as their perception and knowledge of the game improves.

Children have classes with the best chess trainers in Russia
for beginners
In the beginning, it is important to develop interest for chess in your child, fully involve them in the process, and build the right foundation for the future development of chess skill.
Coaches with great educational experience work with our beginner chess players. This is especially important for preschoolers and primary students.

We know that a child's first coach is a mentor whom they will trust and that's why we have carefully selected such individuals and prepared a special program for their first step into the world of chess.

We are very selective in our hiring process for our coaches, ensuring the best possible fit for our school and our students.

Program
According to statistics, out of 40 responses to the vacancy of a trainer, we allow only 1 teacher to train children.
